Mort and I am the proprietor of Ivy Cottage
Cards based in Horwich, Bolton.
Ivy Cottage Cards began life as a hobby
about five years ago in my conservatory, I
was going through a divorce and needed to
get out and have fun. So I joined my local
college doing an Arts and Crafts design
course and, was thoroughly hooked. After
that, friends and family started asking me
to make stationery for their Weddings,
Births, Christenings, Birthdays and Funerals
the rest is history....
In 2002 I met and fell in
love with David and we were married in July
of 2006. We have three children between us,
Nicola, Richard and Daniel and they all help
out in our business. David gives me the
strength and support to embrace this new
challenge in life and with his constant help
and advice he has focused our business to
concentrate on the three main events in
life .Births, Marriages and Deaths.
So in April 2006 I gave up my
9-5 job, travelling all over the country, to
take this job up full time and I absolutely
love it. The self satisfaction that I get
when someone fills up with tears when they
love your work so much is just wonderful.
Our philosophy is to provide a totally
unique service using various printing
techniques and handmade elements to give our
clients choices that had not been available
before. Above all we wanted to create
stationery of high quality that was an
entirely handmade not just 'hand-finished'
product. As each card is made entirely by
hand we are able to adapt our designs to
suit the demands of our clients and this
goes beyond just adapting the colour.
Our clients are people who like their
individual style, status, personality or
interests reflected in their stationery. We
believe that our work and feedback speaks
for itself. We like to think that we make
it easier for you when dealing with these big
